Experience the enchanting allure of Vallais in the vibrant embrace of fall – a season that unveils the region's true magic. Among the must-visit gems, Lötschental reigns supreme, offering a captivating spectacle of nature. While the weather may play a whimsical tune, those fortunate enough to seize the right moment will be treated to a breathtaking display of Larch trees, gracefully scattered in the valleys beneath colossal 4,000-meter peaks.
Our adventure unfolded with a night of camping at the picturesque Camping Lötschental, setting the stage for an exhilarating journey. The following morning, our hiking commenced from the charming Blatten. Scaling approximately 20 kilometers up the mountain, we reached the ethereal Peter Tscherrig Anenhütte, a point that marked the beginning of our ascent towards the glacier.
Navigating the glacier presented a challenge, adding an extra layer of excitement to our expedition. Negotiating the tricky descent, we triumphantly found our way to the glacier floor. From there, our trail meandered along a scenic stream, guiding us back to Blatten. While our chosen route, following the stream, wasn't always well-marked, it injected an adventurous spirit into our journey. For those seeking a smoother path, I recommend sticking to the marked trail to ensure a seamless and thoroughly enjoyable exploration of this captivating terrain.
