Let me tell you about this little slice of heaven we stumbled upon in Switzerland: Amden. It's this winter wonderland where time slows down and worries just melt away.
We're all about hitting the slopes, but this year our winter season has been a bit of a let down due to the lack of snow. Amden offers so much more than just skiing and snowboarding, so instead of sticking to the groomed runs, we love exploring the chill winter trails around Arvenbüel. Just a casual hike up, nothing too strenuous, and before you know it, we're kicking back at this cozy family-run restaurant, soaking in the mountain views.
For a low key destination the scenery here is next level. We followed snowshoe trails to this lookout spot with panoramic views of Säntis, and it's like something out of a postcard. Seriously, every view, every landscape is breathtaking beyond belief, and this once does not fall short of amazing.
As the sun starts to dip, we take our time strolling back to the car, soaking in the golden hour vibes, taking lots of pictures. Sure, we missed out on some roasted Maroni this time around, but hey, that's just an excuse to come back, right?
More than just the scenery though, Amden has such a welcoming atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, surrounded by good energy and even better company.
So if you're looking for a low-key winter getaway that's all about relaxation and epic views, Amden is where it's at. Trust me, you won't regret it.
